How To Penetrate Boyfriend How Far Can Sunlight Penetrate Through The Ocean?

How far can sunlight penetrate through the ocean? - how to penetrate boyfriend

I do not know exactly how much sunlight can penetrate the sea. Does anyone know?

The sunlight does not penetrate into the deep sea and mountain regions of the mesopleagic Ocean. At a depth of 10 meters (33 feet), only 25% of the light energy remains, and the short wavelength (red) are preferably absorbed by water. At a depth of 200 meters (660 feet) to less than 1% of the energy of the sun is available.

In the tropics, 4 or 5 yards or less. Also in Ecuador for more (because of the sun by an angle) for better 2-3 meters in the sea in the north and south.

Anywhere 10-100

Here is a short passage from Sidney Chivers, a former nuclear engineering has been written.

If the water is cloudy, then all the lights will disappear within 10 meters
(less than the height of the house on 3 floors). If you are in the clear waters,
Then a small amount of light that are visible at 100 meters.

The answer technical Sidney Chivers

What makes your question difficult to answer is that the answer depends
Among other things, the light, like a glimmer still under consideration.

Sunlight is composed of photons at different frequencies, the attenuation
These photons depends on the frequency. At 57 pages, Pickard, et al,
Descriptive Physical Oceanography, 2nd Edition, 1975, there is a table
stating the "penetration of light into the depths specified in seawater
Percentage of those who enter through the surface. "To muddy (many
suspended - Floating - sediment or other particles) no coastal waters
Light at about 10 meters. For clear water of the ocean, there are about 0.5
Percent to 100 meters. This table summarizes some results of studies
during the Swedish Deep Sea Expedition 1947 to 1948.

So the answer to your question is a little more light penetrates
100 meters in the clearest water. Are in the coastal waters, the dim, you can
very dark to a depth of only 10 meters.

*** Here is another quote:
Most ocean life is in the area that receives sunlight, also called the photic zone (50 meters to 100 meters deep).

I thought going to a maximum of about 100 meters ... and that's where the algae can reach depths ......
