depnds about how much energy is used, but I would say, are a flashlight, take a normal alkali longer because they do not lose their charge much, if not used. But if neither the use of U-Cd or Ni-MH batteries lose charge is not used. But if u use a lot of light, or use MH. because it is more of their use.
